hi! i'm lisa. welcome to my little space on the internet where I share my favourite vegan recipes and my tips for vibrant healthy living. Have a look around and I hope you like what you see!
Onigiri will always have a special place in my heart 🍙 the taste of plain white rice with a bit of salt and sea weed is so nostalgic 😌. Iused to make a whole bunch of these only trip back from Japan to Canada every summer when I was a kid with my grandma 👵🏻. We’d stuff them with pickled plum, radishes, salmon (pre-vegan) or just a bit of seasonings. Sekihan onigiri is def a new found favourite though! not only is the colour so pretty but it adds a bit more texture and goes so well with bits of little black sesame seeds. Have you tried onigiri before? what’s your favourite thing to stuff them with? 🌚
Need some mid week cozy & warming meal ideas? Well I got ya covered! It’s FREEZING outside but still decided to go for my cold smoothie bowl 😂 balanced out the coldness with a blow dryer in my other hand and a steamed Japanese sweet potato on the side with tahini 🙌🏻 who else can’t wait for summer?? 🥶
Craving all the burgers and sandwiches lately, pulled jackfruit BBQ sandwich sounds so good right now 😭 might have to bring my DIY version of this one back 👀what’s your go to burger or sandwich filling?? 🌚
Good ol' peanut butter smoothie bowl 🥜 🥣 😋 I used 1 block of silken tofu, 1/2 pint of @chimptreats, 1 scoop of @amazinggrass_canada chocolate peanut butter protein powder (my favourite flavour!!), and topped it off with some berries and crushed cookie bits 🙌🏻 Love this bowl for days when you literally don't know if its hot or cold because it's so sunny but also snowing 😂 #canadianweatherprobs
Did something a little bit different today! I gathered up some stuff in my cupboard thats been sitting there (for maybe a lil' too long?) and needed to be used up. I've been really into reading up on how certain ingredients work when it comes to baking and I tried to use what I learned with the ingredients I had to make some cookies, which actually did not turn out bad at allll!! I think this could be a fun way for me to *test* out recipes for the future and the thing I love about plant based baking is that you can eat anything even if its raw 😂. These are soft baked chocolate chip cookies with a lil' added protein 🌚I ended up eating like 6 while doing some work so I'd like to say they came out decent 🙌🏻 What are your favourite cookies to make? 👀
Soups on REPEAT!! This 1-pot Vegan Minestrone is going into my rotation of cozy meal prepped soups 🥣 😋 It's warming, nourishing, hearty and actually quite high in protein so it'll actually keep you full! Plus, it's a great recipe to use up left over veg you have in the fridge. Snag the recipe by heading to https://www.lisakitahara.com/recipe-posts/one-pot-vegan-minestrone-soup or by clicking the link in the bio! Have a lovely Monday ❤️
